What we collect
Snappy Measure has no user accounts and no servers of our own. We never receive your measurements, your camera view, or your photos — those stay on your iPhone, and we have no way to see them or how you use the app.
The app does include Google’s advertising software, which collects data and sends it to Google in order to serve ads. Although we don’t operate that collection and never see the individual data, it happens inside our app, so we treat it as data our app collects and describe it in full under Advertising below.
From Google we receive only aggregate reporting — totals such as how many ads were shown, how many were tapped, and revenue, broken down by country and device type. None of it identifies you.
Camera and motion data
Snappy Measure uses your camera and your device’s motion sensors to measure objects with ARKit. This processing happens entirely on your iPhone, in real time. Camera frames are not recorded, not uploaded, and not transmitted to us or to anyone else.
Photos
When you save an annotated measurement, the image is written to your own photo library on your device. We do not receive a copy and have no access to your photo library beyond adding the image you asked us to save.
Advertising
Snappy Measure is free and supported by advertising through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google’s software in the app may collect:
- Device identifiers, including the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) if you allow tracking
- Your IP address, and approximate location derived from it
- Information about ads shown to you and whether you interacted with them
- General device information such as model and operating system version
This data is collected by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. You can read how Google uses data from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Personalized ads and your consent
You are asked before any tracking happens. iOS shows Apple’s tracking prompt before the app can access your Advertising Identifier, and in regions whose laws require it, Google shows an additional consent form. Ads are only personalized if you agree.
If you decline, the app works exactly the same. Every measuring feature is unaffected. You will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized — chosen without a profile of your interests.
Non-personalized does not mean no data. Even when you decline, Google still receives your IP address, general device information, and records of which ads were shown, because that is needed to deliver an ad at all, to limit how often you see the same one, and to detect fraud. Declining stops your data being used to build an advertising profile; it does not stop the ad request itself.
You can change your mind at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your iPhone. Where a consent form was shown, the app also provides a way to reopen it and change your choices.
Purchases
The one-time ad-free unlock is sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment entirely; we never see your card details, billing address, or Apple Account credentials. Your purchase is recorded against your Apple Account, which is how it restores on a new device.
Children
Snappy Measure is a general-purpose measuring tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will address it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information held about you, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising.
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing on our side to access or delete. Rights relating to advertising data are exercised through Google, using the controls in Google My Ad Center, or by declining tracking in iOS as described above. If you would like help with a request, email us and we will assist.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
